Our story.

A quiet room in Bayside Melbourne, a Japanese ritual, and a belief that rest is not a luxury but a need. This is how Soak Haus came to be.

The Beginning

From a single idea to a sanctuary.

Soak Haus was founded by Monique as Victoria's first Japanese-inspired head spa. It brings the slow, deliberate art of the Japanese head spa ritual home to Bayside Melbourne.

The idea was simple, and it began with a feeling. So much of modern life asks us to keep going. Monique wanted to build the opposite: a room where time softens, where the only thing asked of you is to lie still and be cared for. She believed, and still believes, that self-care is not an indulgence. It is essential. It is the quiet maintenance that lets the rest of life hold together.

Every detail of Soak Haus grew from that belief: the warm water, the low light, the unhurried hands. What began as one idea became a sanctuary in Cheltenham, where guests arrive carrying the week and leave a little lighter.

Our Philosophy

Three things we never compromise.

The Soak Haus ritual is built on a few quiet convictions: about science, about stillness, and about the way you should feel walking back out the door.

Scalp-first science

Healthy hair begins at the scalp. We treat it with intention, using Oway certified-organic haircare: clean, biodynamic formulations chosen for the skin as much as the strands.

Stillness by design

Rest needs the right room. Private suites and a fibre-optic star ceiling close out the noise of the day, so the only thing you have to do is settle in and breathe.

The finish

You should leave feeling and looking restored. We finish with Dyson dryers and an optional professional blow-dry, so you walk back into the world at your best.
